Connect
Approach, touch, and groom a horse — the first milestone.
The goal isn’t to define what a child can accomplish. It’s to create the opportunity for them to discover it.
R4R — Rodeo for Rehab is an Oak Ranch Corp program created around a simple but powerful belief: horses can help children discover confidence, connection, independence, and abilities they may not have known they possessed.
R4R serves children on the spectrum through equine therapy and horsemanship, providing opportunities to connect with horses in an environment that is encouraging, structured, engaging, and fun.
For some children, the journey may begin with something as simple as approaching a horse, touching its face, learning to groom it, or sitting in the saddle for the first time. Those moments can become meaningful milestones — building trust, communication, coordination, confidence, responsibility, and self-esteem.
But R4R is designed to go beyond therapy alone. As participants develop their abilities and interest in horsemanship, we want to give them opportunities to set goals, develop riding skills, and experience the excitement and accomplishment of equestrian and modified rodeo-style competition when appropriate for the individual child.
For some children it begins with touching a horse’s face. Those moments become milestones.
Our mission is to empower children on the spectrum through equine therapy, horsemanship, and rodeo — helping each child build confidence, independence, connection, and a sense of accomplishment through the extraordinary relationship between horse and rider.
For one child, success may be calmly interacting with a horse. For another, it may be riding independently. For another, it may mean entering an arena and competing.
Approach, touch, and groom a horse — the first milestone.
Horsemanship that grows coordination, trust, and responsibility.
Riding independently, at each child's own pace.
Modified rodeo-style competition when it's right for the child.
We envision R4R as a place where children are encouraged to grow at their own pace, families can celebrate accomplishments together, and the horse becomes much more than a therapy partner — it becomes a source of trust, motivation, confidence, and possibility.
